No fecals yet. Have 3 almost 3mo olds with runs. Tomorrow is the last day for sulfa drugs & have shown little improvement. If not cleared up by tomorrow gonna have to be vet time.
The only symtoms not present are lethargy crying or not eating.
No grass out there or plants to throw them off. Are still nursing well, eating hay & scarfing grain with their mommas since a few weeks old, also have access to water.
Feed pans are scrubbed out after each use. They DO pick hay from under the rack please help this is driving me nuts.
10 other babies showing no signs of it. Have no virgin ground to put them on.

The ones with the scours ...may be getting more grain than they can handle.....maybe separate those that are scouring.... when feeding the grain.... cut them off of it..... to see if that is the culprit...

I would get a fecal done to make sure it is cocci and if so, switch to a stronger drug. What are you using now?

I recently had a doe kid with the runs. I treated with Dimethox and SMZ tablets with no effect. Finally gave Excenel and later that day she was back to normal. Might want to try something other than sulfa antibiotics.

Dang goats, they drove me nuts all week with this. Today I spent most of the day watching & waiting for poop inspection.
Did they do it? While I was watching? No I had to have dried funkified legs jumping all over me.
"Hey mom, where's the pepto? Whats this hanging off your vest? You have clean barn jeans we need to fix that.
Stop looking at my behind have you no respect for privacy?! No! Quit lifting my tail!"

LOL Jess, it just came to me. If it ever makes it into a dictionary or at the very least everyday conversation you all here on GS witnessed linguistic history in the making. :hi5: And all because of too much runny goat poop.
