I think my doe is bloating. She is due in about 18 days. I trimmed her hooves today and I think I fed her too much alfalfa pellets. What can I do to help her that will not hurt her babies. So far she is just laying down breathing heavily and burping every so often. I have lay down with her inside the barn and I'm rubbing the top left side of her stomach. That seems to help her burp but I don't want to hurt the babies. Is there anything else I should do and is rubbing her like that going to hurt her or the babies. I have been pretty gentle not applying too much pressure.
Can't help you much except that you would have to be pretty rough to hurt the babies. They are well protected in her belly. I would doubt you could rub hard enough to hurt them. If rubbing is helping keep it up and press a little harder
A tablespoon of soda in water to drench. You want to try and stand her up with her front feet higher then her rear feet and work the air bubbles out. You're not going to hurt the babies at all.
Massage her left side and up and down her neck middle. she is doing right up like that. Then walk her and repeat. You can give her GasX
Baking soda/ water drench will help.
Can't see her left side, is she off feed, over extending above the left side rib cage, grinding teeth?
I don't feed grain. Just rolled oats and alfalfa pellets. She seems to be doing better, kind of lethargic but I can't tell if that's cuz of the pregnancy or not feeling good. I don't think it was super bad. Her left side isn't as huge as before.
