My Nubian doe has been pacing, laying down and getting up, and panting heavily for 12 hours. This is her second kidding and she is at 152 days. I'm very new at this and I am concerned that it is taking so long. Any advice or calming comments? When should my worry turn into fear?

Amy, hopefully someone with more experience chimes in, as we are in the home stretch of our very first kidding. I can tell you that our Goat Vet who was here last week just to make sure everyone looked good, told me that 'pushing' more than a half hour was a reason to call. This is all I've got, sorry. Hope everything turns out well.

Its not uncommon for does to be restless for a while before actually getting down and pushing.

But if I dont see a doe progressing I will clean up and go in with 2 fingers to see if there is any progress and if she is open or not. Sometimes after I do this it will also help progress a doe.
