Okay, well I'm thinking next year after Finale and/or Ebony freshen (well hopefully anyways, we'll see), well I was thinking I'll probably be ready to sell Orion. Thing is, I have NO CLUE how much he is worth. His dam was a BEAUTIFUL doe, and I really wish she hadn't passed away. Although if I get my land I may keep him and also get another buck for the related does. If I get the 6 or so acres with my friend I'm planning on having about 10 does. But suppose I do sell him, what is he worth? He's got pretty good conformation, and throws nice kids (so far). Both were does. Plus the color factor. (I probably shouldn't use that for pricing though right?) And I'll have even more kids out of him again before I sell him.
well color I'd think would add on to the value. i'd look at other bucks in your area and compare pricing, conformation, and bloodlines to get a price. you dont want to sell a $1000 buck in an area that only wants $100 pet goats. IDK I think looking at him anywhere $350-$500? I may be way off though!!
I agree, you shouldn't ask any less than $350 for him, if he's registered (I don't know if he is or not).
Who is his sire? I, personally, wouldn't factor in color...most Nubian breeders don't do that. I would probably only ask $200-$300.

Its done with your registry you are ADGA right? If you call them or hit their web site www.adga.org, you can get a schedual of when they are appraising and the fees. they are quite nice on the phone btw.
Actually his sire has a really nice pedigree, I don't know much about Nubians like I do other breeds but I recognize some very nice animals there It may be too late to sign up for appraisal, I think the deadline was last month you'll have to check though for your area
Yep mom and dad scored well and so did their parents, it just helps some times to say "and he scored a 89 VEEE to" also if any of his kids have been scored thats a help, but all that aside just with what you have there if I were to be lookin for a nubian buck for my girls I would easily pay $350-400 for one like him.

Well I'm not selling him until after Lyric and Heidi kid again as I want another doeling or two out of the Lyric/Orion cross and the people who bought Heidi want one out of him as well. So it's going to be a while.
