I seen a beautiful jet black pygmy for sale and she might be possibly bred to their pygmy buck. Their reason for selling is they are expecting orders to leave soon. My question(s) is are pygmies decent milkers? Also if we do get her can I use our Nigie buck to bred her in her next heat? Just entertaining the idea, she really is pretty!

Pygmies in general aren't the greatest milkers. They are meat goats and not dairy. But there are Pygmy goats out there that can produce more. You won't know until you try and milk her.

No problem on breeding her to a Nigerian buck.

Thank you Karen! Yeah I wasn't sure how pygmies would fair as far as producing not only milk for their kid(s) but also for the table.
