I have a pyrenees going to be having puppies in about a week. Is it safe to let her have the babies in the same pen with the goats? I'm really nervous about this. Help and suggestions please and thank you
I think separating them would be your best bet especially if it's her first litter. Momma dogs get really protective of pups and goats being curious critters might get too close and get snapped at which isn't a behavior you want in you LGD. Maybe when the pups are bigger and momma is more comfortable with the goats nearby I'd let them all get acquainted but not until.
Congrats on the upcoming puppies! Can't wait to see baby pics
My pyr has had two litters in the barn but in a separate stall from the goats. Once they pups are older they venture out and hang out with the goats along with mom but in the beginning it's best to keep them separate.
