i grow peppermint in my garden and would like to use it in my cold process goat milk soaps. do i need to dry the peppermint first? or can i chop it and add it fresh? what would fresh mint do to the soap? would it be too strong? would it mold? i havent used any fresh herbs in my soaps yet and dont want to waste my oils!!! help!

That is a very good question...I have never used fresh either but my thought is it would spoil or mold...I will talk with a friend who is a soap queen and see what she says...:D

I asked my soaper friend...she said she has never used fresh but imagines the lye would prevent molding but she said you can be sure it will turn your soap off color...she knows some who blend fruit and veggies in their soap..she herself has used pumkin with nice results...she suggest calling Bambleberry to see what they say...they are very knowledgeable..
