Question about Premier 1 goat/sheep stand

Good evening/morning fellow homesteaders!

For my birthday I got a premier 1 goat/sheep stand for trimming and such(pic below)

I haven't gotten the side panels or the ramp yet!

But anyways, my question is, is that how do I lock the goats head in place, I am training my market wether to the stand and he slips his nose out from the head lock. I have been searching on how to lock my goats head in place but I haven't had luck

Does anyone out there know how to lock the goats head in place, maybe take a picture of all sides, or a video...this would be so helpful so I know how to lock his head in place/or my other boer goats!!!

The chain goes around the back of the head first, then over the nose. The stand isn't really adjusted right for this doe (the headpiece should be higher up and the chain more behind the base of her skull) and her nose is a little short for the chain to go over the top correctly, but this should give you the idea.

Yep like in those pics, but if he is smaller and keeps slipping his nose out from under the chain, I just loop it under the headpeice to the other side/peg so they can't wiggle the chain off if it's on one side only (hope that makes sense). It's harder to use it correctly with young goats IMO, I know ours would rather slip it off and play with the chain lol

Yes I know someone who has one and used it for trimming my ND hooves! You may have to lift them up though!

The doe in my photo is a Nigerian, and one of my smaller ones at that. So yes. I do use the ramp though.
I have a premier one stand for my nigies but I got the milking stanchion headpiece. I really like it.

yes! i think this stand is definitely worth every single penny!!

i’ve been doing the same as above..tying the to the fence, flipping them over, having someone hold them down while i give shots, hooves, etc…but once i got my stand it’s been so helpful. especially since i breed, raise, and sell boer and nigie goats it’s been so helpful for my 4h and ffa projects!!!

definitely 100% recommend!! you can get
add-on’s if needed too!!

Good to know it's versatile enough to go from Boer to ND...
