Good morning from North Central Arkansas. We breed registered Mini Lamancha's but we also have some unregistered Nigerian Dwarfs and some other dairy goat cross does. I have the chance to borrow an unregistered Mini Lamacha buck and was hoping to breed one of my F1 registered does who lost her kid last year. She is registered experimental with the MDGA and as I stated, the buck is not registered. Would any kid produced with this pairing, be able to be registered. I thought I remembered being told at one time that as long as the doe is registered, any kid could be registered experimental MDGA. Thanks for any information.
You should be able to register under the grade program. They just re-opened it. Bucks are included in it now. You will have to continue to breed to registered mini-Lamanchas and breed out the "unknown" percentage for them to enter the Experimental herdbook and move out of grade.
