My 5-month-old pygmy kid was treated with Tobramycin drops for pink eye a couple of weeks ago. She was treated for over a week. The pink eye is back. Looks like I'll need to get some injectable oxytetracycline. I understand it needs to be given sub-q (under the skin, not in the muscle) once a day for 5 days. Is this correct?

Does it matter where on the goat I inject it? With dogs and cats I usually do sub-q injections in the scruff of the neck. Where is the best spot on a goat? This goat is very hard to get her to hold still, even in a stanchion. She kicks like crazy.

I've found that it is easiest to give an injection by slightly pinching and pulling up a piece of skin on their side, just behind the front leg. I don't like to give injections near the shoulder blades or spine because if you're unsure of yourself, it is easy to hit a nerve
