I chose to raise bottle babies as our first goats so that they would be as friendly and gentle with my family as possible. We mainly wanted them for pets with the option for milk in the future.

While I LOVED bottle feeding I realize now what a time commitment it is. I am lucky to be at home fulltime and had the time to commit to this. My children really loved it too, especially my 3 year old who is now VERY bonded to his "Prim Prim."

When we decide to breed them for milk for the family, I am not so sure I would bottle feed. I am secretly hoping for a single the first time so we can keep it, let momma raise it and have milk for us too. I will probably supplement with a bottle if we have multiples so that I can sell one that is used to a bottle and another family can enjoy that bonding experience as well.
