my goat had her babies yesterday (july 1st) and today i walked out to check on them and the kids were nowhere to be found. All of the adults were in the goat shed. I went to look for them and found them laying in the middle of the goat pasture soaking wet (it had been pouring down rain all day) is this normal behavior for a momma? she had two babies a year ago but never did this. when i took the babies inside my house too dry off she didn't care, just laid back down. should i be worried that she may have rejected them or just let her do her thing?

Rejection is a possibility, but it could also be that, being a 2nd timer, she just hasn't had the opportunity to bond properly with them. I believe that I would pen her and the kids for a few days so I could keep an eye on them. Were their tummies full when you found them?

I totally agree with Goatcrazy..mom needs to be penned up with babies in a safe place..keep and eye on them to be sure she is feeding them, and caring for them..
Might give some Nutra drench to the little ones since they got so wet..
