Hi all! I’m new here but not new to goats. This is just a first for me. I rescued 3 goats (2 does and a wether) in April. They were all extremely overweight and on a course to the auction barn. Once on a proper diet, it became evident one of the does was pregnant. She started to get an udder as well. So I had my vet out to do blood tests before they joined the rest of the herd and low and behold - definitely pregnant. The vet said that blood tests only confirm pregnancy after a month? Is this correct? This makes the last possible day she could have been bred March 28. That’s fine as I’m experienced but I usually now exactly (give or take a few days) when my girls will be due so now I’m anxiously waiting. I thought she had discharge the other morning but her lady bits are dark so it was hard to tell. Do you guys think she looks close? I believe this will be her second kidding. Her name is Cookie and she is as sweet as one and her previous owners would feed her BOXES of Nilla Wafers. She was SO fat. She is actually 20 lbs lighter now than when I got her. And clearly pregnant lol. I’m excited anyway even if the waiting is killing me lol. Please enjoy the photo bomb from her friend Spinner too.
