Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I just noticed this yesterday in my 5 yr old Nigerian Dwarf wether. He's going to the vet Monday so I've got all weekend to worry! He's eating/drinking fine. We had noticed he wasn't climbing on anything and seems to be walking carefully. He reacts when we move our hand/finger close to the eye so we think he can see at least partially from it. Other eye is normal. Our first thought was eye trauma (maybe horned by another goat), but now I'm worried about an eye tumor or even brain tumor. Thanks for any info!

I'm glad you're getting that checked out by a vet. It doesn't look like an injury to me. I'd be concerned about a tumor as well. I hope he's ok!

Well the vet's diagnosis was an intra-ocular tumor. Not good news. But he also said that the tumor may stay the way it is for quite some time, maybe years. It could also lead to glaucoma, but he doesn't think that's the case right now because Bernie (goat) is not showing any obvious pain or distress. We're in a wait & see zone for now. In the meantime Bernie will be living his best life with lots of love!
