    thinking he's bloated
got his normal ration, plus alfalfa pellets
(he doesn't usually get them, I had some left over from milking today..but it shouldn't have done anything wrong??)

    anyway..

temp is normal, not wanting to eat (drinking fine), 'off' looking, peeing and pooping normally. Free choice baking soda but I haven't seen him touch it.
I got him separated (put him in a stall with a new goat (poor doe, tell y'all later) ) and he started butting, when i walk in he usually run over to me, but now he's looking depressed...

should I give him a couple cc's of mineral oil to relieve the bloat? his sides are larger then usual and it sounded 'sloshy' when i pressed down, not frothy and bubbly like 'normal' bloat  :help:

update .. been on facebook updating mostly

gave 50cc of dish soap and warm water, he coughed once, backed up and pooped a lot, then peed, one big yawn then over to the baking soda, he's drinking tons of water
then I gave 2 tablets of Gas X

behavior: depressed, standing, walking between water and soda, tired
rumen is making some serious noise, which i assume is good

how is he this morning? some MOM could help him (might make his stools dark and a bit more soft so be aware).

If he is taking the baking soda on his own thats good, if not make a ball of it with a little water and stuff a good amount in his mouth. The water will make it pasty so he cant spit it out as easily.

Glad to hear his rumen is making noises. If you have any CD Antitoxin you can give him some orally - follow the directions on the bottle, I think its like 10ccs

    How is he today Katrina?

    mineral oil is ok ....

I would maybe give him probiotic paste....

don't give him any grain.... right now..

check the pellets for mold..smell them.....seems odd ...that he got bloated after feeding that? If it is mold... it is toxic ..... :(

I am sorry he is ill.... :( I am praying for him...

I'll get some CD anti. in him thanks

He's about the same this morning. goat some therabloat from a friend, but all of my drenching guns are missing the tips (like the most important part!!) thanks parents..
    I gave him another 50cc of dishsoap/water.

yes. I'll have to hold on the grain.. seems odd that he would get sick from it, my milker gets it 2x a day!

thanks for your prayers.. you know I worked so hard for him and he is by far the best goat I've EVER had

Your welcome....yes I know you worked so hard to get him....

50 cc of soap... is that to much?

Has he eaten at all... any hay? I wouldn't feed Alfalfa to him..I'd try a less hot feed ...as it will bloat him further....

He is a really nice buck and in my opinion.... I know he means everything to you and I would recommend ....getting him to a vet ....
