2 weeks ago i wormed my adults with ivomec pour on for dairy cattle as was instructed by my 4h leader
the next day 3 of my babies got the scours
(1 from each doe - i have 3 does that each gave me a set of twins)
i gave all the babies pepto
2 of them, i thought, cleared up
guess not, they're not really runny but they're not solid either
the other doe (my favorite - of course) has very watery runs and crys out every time she goes
    please help
    temps are normal
    eyelids are pale pink
scours are dark but not black

My first thought is that when they have an already pre exsisting condition and you worm them it causes that condition to present itself - at least that is what happened in my case with Mia and cocci.

I would run a fecal on her for cocci or just start her on albon or Sulmet to treat.

    How old are these kids?

Even if this turns out to not be cocci I really recommend you keep some cocci meds on hand cause as you see sometimes it is impossible to find it local.

    angel was born march 4

    thought i had sulmet
    turned out to be terrimycin
    went to tsc
all they had was a auremycin/sulmet combo that said for swine only
so that's why i bought the bounce back
figured something was better than nothing
and i gave 5g of probios this afternoon

They are the prime age for cocci so I would make sure they stay hydrated and find some sulmet, albon or even corrid asap.

The only thing with that is it is a sulfa and tetracycline in one and I am not sure how to dose it correctly. You would be better off getting online and ordering some from jeffers or calling around and see if you can find any on Monday at another feed store that might be open.

Sounds like cocci! I agree with Stacey that worming made them show their ugly face. Get the sulmet from TSC or Albon

my tsc does not have the sulmet
they only have the one that is mixed with auremycin for swine only
i gave angel 3cc pepto, 6cc gatoraid with baking soda and 5g probios twice today
she is still scouring but not as bad and doesn't cry every time she goes
i am pretty sure where i can get sulmet but it is an hour away so i'll call first in the morn then treat the whole herd
    thanx everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
