This is our first breeding season. Mine and my husband's, not our goats first season. We had bought two bucks for breeding, and lo and behold, all three pregnant does each had one buck (we were hoping for does). Each male has his own unique bark for the ladies and it is cracking me and my husband up. There is one I swear sounds just like a chicken!

The does starting cycling before show season was over. I heard to keep your bucks away from the does until your ready to start breeding them. We have separate pins, but at our last two shows our bucks were acting up and I noticed a lot of the other bucks were a lot calmer.

How far away do you keep YOUR bucks? What do you do to keep them separate? What can we do for a better behaved buck next year?
