First ...take his temp....if he has a high temp...start him on antibiotics....

Also it may not be a bad idea to have a fecal done.... for cocci and worms

    Keep us updated

He sounds like he's cold if he's hunched up like that. Can you get him under a heat lamp or put a coat on him so he can warm up?

Did I see you are in Wisconsin--then you probably have been having the pretty cold temperatures lately. That temp seems really low for a goat. Here's a link to a page I just found about goat's temps under 100 degrees: http://www.goatworld.com/articles/hypot ... iabh.shtml

sounds like it may be rumen trouble.... :(

can be caused by...over-feeding grains, under-feeding hay...

are you feeding loose salt and minerals ?

Keep him warm.... stop grains.... give probiotic paste, baking soda....

97 is too low and his rumen will not process feeds. You might entice him with some warm kool aid but hes got to be warmed up.

I would also not give any grains until his temp is over 100

I would cut the beet pulp out if you can beet pulp has a lot of sugar in it and its not good for kids and boys. 97 is really low, he needs to be warmed up offer him some warm water with a teaspoon of molasses in it. the more he drinks the better. but dont give him too much mollasses (again with the sugar thing) Lots of hay, if you can get some plain yogurt down him or probios that wopuld be good. Sounds like hes cold and has a bit of a tummy ache.
