If I use the 2% chlorhexidine only will it cure the staph ? Will it hurt my goat if she lick’s it ? How long will it take to heal? I have never had to deal with staph before so I am worrying about my kid .Thank you all.

That is what I use, diluted chlorhexidine. I currently have a doe with a small bit of staff on her udder and have been spraying it down for the last two days and it's almost gone.

I don't have kids on my does so I just spray and let drip dry. With kids on, I spray and let it sit for a few to soak in and then gently wipe it. I never have problems with the kids nursing.

My kid is 4 months old and caused the staph by licking a healing abscess. If she licks the spray do you think it will hurt her? Thank you

No, it won’t hurt them.

I use it for teat sores from kids teeth and no kids are harmed when nursing.

Boosting immune system will help with healing too, less topical stuff to worry about- raw garlic, vitamin C.

I spray moms udder with it when the kids make sores on her from their teeth.
Or if they get a staph infection.
Never had an issue with kids nursing after.
