That is what I use, diluted chlorhexidine. I currently have a doe with a small bit of staff on her udder and have been spraying it down for the last two days and it's almost gone.

I don't have kids on my does so I just spray and let drip dry. With kids on, I spray and let it sit for a few to soak in and then gently wipe it. I never have problems with the kids nursing.

My kid is 4 months old and caused the staph by licking a healing abscess. If she licks the spray do you think it will hurt her? Thank you
