Hello everyone, My Wife and I have just bought a house here in Alaska and we planning on getting 2 goats within the next month 1 is a doe the other is a wether. Both are less then 6 months and are from the same litter. Just looking to expand our knowledge.

Welcome, glad you are here. :)

Make sure, they have a draft free barn or shed. If at all possible, electricity, if you plan on having babies to keep them warm, under a heat lamp ect or get a sick goat that goes sub on you.

Have a water warmer, so their water doesn't freeze.

Have good thick bedding.

Good feed and fed well.

Just some things to consider.;)

Goats are a lot of fun:)
Keep the kids worm and coccidia free, feed good amounts of grain and always have forage avalible, keep hooves trimmed water clean, have shade and shelter in the summer and a warm place in the winter...there you have basics of goat raising :D
What breed are you getting?
