Strange Pupils

My goats’ pupils have gone from rectangular to circular and one is having diarrhea. What do I need to do to treat that?

We need a lot more info and pics. What is their temp? When was the last time you had a fecal to include coccidia done? When and with what were they last wormed? What exactly is their diet? How hot is it in your area? Have you gotten too much rain? What other symptoms are you seeing?

We don’t currently have a way to check their temps, and we’re getting medicine for coccidia to be prepared. We last worked them around two weeks ago using Ivermectin which we got from our local Vet. Their diets include Alfalfa Timothy Hay, around a cup each of Goat Grain, Smart Beet pulp, Timothy Grass pellets, minerals, baking soda which we’ve been giving them for bloat, clean water, and Gatorade when they need extra electrolytes. They get free range of everything but the grain and Gatorade. They get free range of tall grass daily as well. Lately it’s been around 85°-100°F and we’ve rarely gotten rain, however we have gotten some today. They aren’t really having any other symptoms. I don’t currently have pictures of them to show.

Are your goats actually bloating? If not, they shouldn't be getting baking soda daily. They make their own bicarbonate and if they are eating baking soda, then it tells their body to stop making it. Then you are really in trouble when they actually bloat. Plus it deactivates ammonium chloride.

All you need is a cheap thermometer from the store.

Take away grain with the diarrhea.

You can give Spectogurd if for you scours, and or @happybleats Tummy tamer. I'd start them on probiotics daily, if they act weak I'd give B-12 (not gonna hurt them to give it anyway). Definitely take away the baking soda. And if they are bloated, make a Soda drench and drench it down them. Get a fecal ASAP, that will tell you if worms or cocci are a problem. What's their FAMANCHA?
Make sure they are hydrated and eating good. If dehydrated this heat will take them outta here very fast. Definitely take away all grains. Make sure to give them plenty of forage to eat. Like oak leafs, hedge bushes limbs, etc etc
Get a normal human thermometer and take temp regularly.

We really need more info on the goats. Like, any other symptoms then the diarrhea and eye thing?

I believe polio/listeriosis can cause abnormalities with the eyes. Look up those symptoms and see if anything fits there.
Poison can cause dilated pupils in some species. You might give activated charcoal, just to be on the safe side.
I agree, it would be good to know what their temperatures are.

If the lighting is right, their pupils can look round because they are adjusting to see in the dark. Head injuries can cause one pupil to be bigger than the other and not respond to light.

Yep, they can. My doe Cupcake got Polio and she went completely blind for a couple days
