Need some diagnosis help with this one.

Two weeks ago, 8 mth old wether jumped the fence and got hung up by the back leg, limped for a day then was fine. Yesterday I noticed his pastern joint is still swollen, and warmer to touch than the other joints. He has also lost weight.

    What do you think?

Did he cut himself? Small puncture wound?

There isn't a lot of circulation there so it may not have bled much. Wounds that don't bleed are more likely to get infected, even if they are small.

Check the skin (if you can...depends on hair color and quantity) and see if there is any redness or streaking, both of which can be signs of infection.

I'm going to guess that he sprained it when he got caught, my brother had a boer doe that got her back foot caught in a feeder(she was hanging upside down for like an hour) she never broke anything but she acted just like your guy. If you know where you can get the homeopathic remedy Arnica, I would give him that, it will help with the injury and help take away the swelling.

You could use DMSO for the swelling. Poor fella.
