I shaved her the minute I got her home (black goat in 80 degree weather with a full coat...uh uh). She's got gorgeous teats which look huge for a FF, and nice attachments all around (would like to fix her front attachment, but oh well-we'll see what next year brings). I'll be milking her tonight, so we'll see what she produces.

I also weighed her and everyone else with the tape method...Jenny weighs in at 110, Talala 120, Butters 23 lb and Tweek 19 lb (these are 2 1/2 week old kids here). Jenny *looks* better than she did, but she's still bony, just not as noticeably. Talala of course, is actually overconditioned....and talk about copper deficiency. Her legs were almost red. I know her old owner's been too busy with other kids to supplement her, but I've got the stuff, so no worries there.

I'll be getting pictures soon as I get an SD card for my new camera.

Got the photos. Talala's nowhere near full in these. That's also Jenny's small kid at 19lb.

Congrats! She's pretty. Doesn't look over conditioned at all, she looks just right.

I thought the coat helped protect them from the sun,and keep them cooler???

Nice looking milkers though, how much is she producing???

I don't know what she's producing yet, I havent' milked her. She's still not full tonight, so she'll be milked in the morning. I'm not expecting more than a quart, her dam didn't look like the greatest producer.

I am not an expert by any means (HA! I am just a beginner that doesn't know ANYTHING!) but I think she is pretty :) Her bag looks small, but her teats in my very humble opinion look good! I love nubians, my nubian doeling is a black roan, with a LOT of white roaning so she looks smoky grey! Supposedly her mother milked over a gallon a day at peak!

I have a sinking feeling her udder's never going to get fuller....she won't eat, except for a few nibbles off the alfalfa bale, and this morning I got maybe 3 squirts from each teat, with absolutely no fill to her udder at all.

I know it's probably just stress and her mourning her kid, but I'd at least like a chance to milk her this year....
