Is there any concern for constant thirst? One of my boys seems to always be thirsty. We supply plenty of fresh water daily and make sure they always have enough since we know this important. He meets us at the gate when we change out the buckets smack'n and licking his licks even though they have yesterdays left over. No diet changes, he really has always liked his water. He is so funny, he drinks forever and samples from all the buckets, coming up with his go-t drippin, smack'n his lips some more :lol: It's funny to watch. The other day I brought water and he drank almost 2 gallons at once and I watched as his belly swelled up from it. I know the goal is to get them to like and drink this much water, just want to make sure there are no concerns with thirst.

What is his diet?
When I give mine salted peanuts (treats) they drink more.

He's an older goat, so renal failure/renal damage is one possibility.

Don't know if goats can get diabetes.

I would have a vet check him out.

He's a little over 1.5, he gets Alfalfa, grain (nutrene naturewise mixed with dry cob and sunflower seeds), and free choice minerals.
