There is a site for comments on HR875 sponsored by Sunshine foundation at:
    http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h875/show

This bill will in effect outlaw all private farms

    Bill HR875 Covers ALL
    farming

It requires a written food safety plan,
testing, record and sample keeping, open access for inspections,
traceability and so on with fines up to $1,000,000 a day and jail
terms up to ten years. This bill spins red tape so thick no one but a
corporation with a professional staff could hope to comply. " ....set good practice standards to protect the public and animal
health and promote food safety;..." That line could include
    all pets TOO!!!!

Yet here is the definition of a:
    “..FOOD PRODUCTION FACILITY- The term
'food production facility' means any farm, ranch, orchard, vineyard,
aquaculture facility, or confined animal-feeding operation...”
There is NO exemption for instate
commerce, for hobby farms, for you backyard garden. One lady
reported on the NONAIS.org site that she had USDA show up at her home
and tell her she could not give raw goats milk and cheese to her
    grown son!

In effect this bill will outlaw all but corporate farms
irreparably harming Biodiversity, Food Sovreignty and the Land. It
also does not correct the food safety problems caused by the
introduction of World Trade Organization policies such as HACCP.
Efforts of Food inspectors to bring attention to problems HACCP
    ignored by USDA management
    Apr 17, 2008 Testimony:Mr. Stan
Painter, Chairman, National Joint Council of Food Inspection Locals:

    "...It (the recall of
Hallmark/Westland Meat) highlights one of the problems that we
have attempted to raise with the agency ever since 1996 when the
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) inspection system
was put in place. There seems to be too much reliance on an honor
system for the industry to police itself. While the USDA
investigation is still on going at Hallmark/Westland, a couple of
facts have emerged that point to a system that can be gamed by those
who want to break the law. It (HACCP) shifted the responsibility
for food safety over to the companies ..."

    December 2004 Union president
Stan Painter receive reports from union member that SRM regulations
are not uniformly enforced. Painter writes to the Assistant FSIS
Administrator for Field Operation about enforcement problem. USDA
responses by placing Painter on disciplinary investigation status and
contacts the USDA Office of Inspector General about filing criminal
    charges.

    December 2004 Freedom of
    Information Act requests
    August 2005 Over 1000
non-compliance reports – weighing some 16 pounds -- were turned
    over http://domesticpolicy.oversight.house.g ... 113258.pdf

    AMEN stacy!
and someone else suggested that you join your local farm bureau

    Quote:

AND you should JOIN the FARM BUREAU!!!!!!! The Farm Bureau is the largest lobbying organization in the country the serves the main purpose of representing farmers to our government. And Farm Bureau is member driven. The members tell the leadership what they want to be done for farmers in local, state, and federal government. Then the Farm Bureau lobbyists go to the government and tell them what the farmers want.

Here's a link to the American Farm Bureau. You can find links on that site for the individual State Farm Bureau's for your state from there.
