This is my second freshener 11 hour fill just want to know your thoughts on her udder? I have an idea but want others opinions.
Thank you

I’m new at judging but to me it looks like her teats are placed too far forward and they stick out instead of straight down. And her medial doesn’t seem very good either. Her escutcheon arch is more of a V shape than a U. I see something else that looks a little wrong to me but I’m not sure what it’s called. Lol @Dandy Hill Farm @Rancho Draco I also think she could have better blending in the foreudder to her belly.

She looks to have decent rear attachment. Her medial is okay but I would like to see it stronger. Her teats are a bit too far out and point forward a bit. She looks to have a small pocket in her foreudder as well. Overall, not bad but not great. There really isn't one big thing wrong but rather a few different little things so I think her kids could have a lot of potential bred to the right buck. Out of curiosity, what do you like/not like?

👆 I agree. The only other thing I would add is that her udder could also be a lot higher.

That’s what I was seeing! I couldn’t figure out what was wrong though. Lol Yeah, it could be a little higher.

Thanks for the catch. I thought I put that in there. I'm not good at multitasking.

I too agree with the opinions shared. It's definitely not a bad udder but definitely not the best. Breed her to a buck with nice, great udders behind him and you should have some good uddered does from them

All the things you listed I would like to improve. I'm trying to decide if I want to show her or not. Here are all the udders behind my buck. 2 is his dam 1,4, and 5 are his sires dam and the rest are granddams ect.

Thank you now I would love thoughts on body conformation. She's hairy but to cold to shave.

She's lacking some capacity for a 2F doe. She has deep lateral attachments but her top attachments seem loose. He foreudder is super short and needs to extend more smoothly into her belly. Her teats are set too far forward under her belly. She also needs some height to her udder. Though I have a doe that I put her on the stand and the camera captures her udder looking WAY low, but normal in the pasture, it's much higher. So could be the camera. However, the udders behind your buck look like they should improve her more.

It's hard to judge her front end with the hair. Not sure if it's her or her hair that makes her neck and where it connects look off. She needs more depth the the belly, you can see where her foreudder should be going into her belly more, she is lacking that depth there. She does look to be fairly level in the rump. She has nice strong and straight feet and legs. Her neck area though looks a bit funky and I'm wondering if it's all the hair causing it to do that.

I bet your seeing where her collar sits that looks funny. I'll have to shave and get better pictures.
WHere her collar sits and over her withers, if its a lot it's making her look artificially high in the withers. And along the bottom of her neck looks lumpy. I'm sure it's just hair and when you shave she will look so different lol.
