Tiny Turd is a mama!!

I have had many cows, and a good handful of those I have made my pets, but Tiny Turd is the most one of a kind cow I have EVER had! She was born a preemie and only weighed 21 pounds. She couldn’t stand or nurse and I fought like heck to keep this calf, that I didn’t want at the time, alive. I tubed her the first few days and finally she could suck. It took 2 weeks holding this baby up between my legs to feed before she finally was able to stand. And then she absolutely stole my heart. Since she was so small she lived with the goats. That’s probably why she has so much personality lol she thought she was a goat until about a year old when she started to get too rough with her playing so she got booted out to learn to be a cow. That didn’t go well but by then I had bout a Jersey cow and had another bottle heifer so it was my little herd of dummies. But here is my turd

Turd always stayed kinda small so I have been on pins and needles with her being pregnant. The trailer has been ready just in case I had to take her to a vet.
Yesterday I could tell she was super close. I got her in the corral that way if I needed to pull the calf it was a short walk to get her in the squeeze. I checked her ALL night long and finally when the fog rolled in at 4 I went to bed. Got up at 6 and as I was walking down saw her walking along the fence with her placenta hanging out. I thought well great it’s dead but at least she’s alive. No! The little Turd jr. slipped under the bars and was on the outside. So I gathered him up and she is hollering at me and I got him back to her. They were both pretty dumb on the nursing thing. He was stubborn and wouldn’t just latch on and she just wanted to clean him. Finally got it together and he latched on and she realized oh! He needs to eat lol but here they are. I’m not even upset in the slightest it’s a bull calf, I am just relieved they both are fine. I’ll get more pictures when I defrost and he gets all dried off.

What beautiful goat cows you have. Congratulations on both of them being healthy and strong and that they got the hang of just being right...

I love her bangs! Her Jersey friend is a obsessive groomer so it’s usually sticking up like that lol her two buddies are not taking her being down below well, they are going to be shocked when she shows back up with another addition. They are a super tight knit trio.
Went and checked on them, Savanna had to see the baby too and she’s very much in love. There was tongues just a flying at her lol

he’s already running and trying to play with the dogs, so super healthy! Now I just need the Jersey, my other bottle girl and the goats to all have their babies and I’ll be stress free (yeah right lol) but I’m happiest this one is over and done with

Lol goofygoat if it wasn’t so cold she would have been in Sandals! She is worse then I am about shoes lol I don’t know how she would have taken that though, especially since Turd was high on hormones and trying to lick her sweatshirt off her
Thank you guys. I am very proud of her. She is a wonderful momma. Hers was kinda a crap mother so I was worried that she would be too. Not that it would have mattered, she is one of the few that will be here for life, I just wouldn’t keep anything out of her if she was.
Here he is all dry and happy. Savanna is already upset it’s a boy and trying to talk me into keeping him. Not going to happen and we just won’t make a pet out of him (as you can see it’s working well lol)

Lol and just like that she’s not allowed to talk to Moers Kiko boars lol she wants to do a steer but feed is so insanely high! Our fair isn’t the best so there’s a fine line between debt and braking even.

He is so stinking cute! Such a personality. My brother and his wife came over last night to see him and he tried to kick the wife but not much heart in it. I am evil so of course laughed lol
I got them moved back with Turds sisters. That was fun! Turd isnt halter broke so I just grabbed a bucket of grain which she follows well. Little guy was like FREEDOM and gave Savanna a run for her money keeping him with mom. In the end she attempted to just pack him. Got them with the others and he tried to nurse the Jersey cow and bulls. Both of course just stood there (jerseys I swear!) and then went for the angus, she was NOT having any of that so he learned real fast to just stick with mom. But everyone seems to be happy to be back together.
