I’m seeing a lot of recommendations to use neosporin or triple antibiotic in eyes. Are these just the regular skin veresion or do they need to be the eye version?
Just the regular one. Make sure it's not the pain control one though. The plain 3 ingredient ointment.
I put a small amount in a small luer slip syringe. This makes it easier to get a small ribbon under the lower eyelid.
Okay thanks. We brought a kid home about 2 days ago. She was doing fine, but a little itchy. I didn’t think to check for lice or mites because it didn’t seem excessive or anything. Today she all of a sudden has diarrhea and runny eyes. I checked and she also has lice so now we’re going to treat for the lice and the eyes. Of course, I let the breeder know and no response yet
A fecal analysis so you can decide if she needs deworming or coccidia treatment for the scours would be a good idea too. Young goats are very prone to them and the stress of a home change can trigger an issue.
