Well, just a couple days ago we had two nigerian doelings born! One is almost solid black with blue eyes, the other is black and white with brown eyes. They are super cute and already friendly as can be. Just thought i'd share....enjoy the pics!
Well, actually I believe these guys are pure nigerians. The mother has the color of a pygmy, but looks like a nigerian and has a pretty big, nice udder on her. These twins are out of Twist. I was told momma was a pygmy, but the person didn't even know much about her so She looks nigerian to me.
Do you have a pic of mom? I have never seen a nigerian with black auguti pattern that was pure nigerian. I wonder if she is a cross???

She does look to be a cross....she looks alot like my Bootsie...and I know my girl had a pygmy sire and ND/Pygmy dam. The agouti pattern can come up with ND...but it is frowned upon in the breed standards because it "looks too pygmy" though I do believe it is called "Roaned" in Nigi's. She is a pretty girl, no matter what she is.
Yeah,,,that's what i'm starting to think...maybe a cross. I do have a blue eyed nigi who has that pygmy look, but is reg. nigerian and has an amaizing udder. She is a roan, but looks kinda like Malli with the black legs and mask.
I've seen a couple Nigerian (purebred & papered) w/ the coloring of a pygmy. There was one on here a couple weeks ago. . . . something Lavender? I can't remember. Anywho, I have seen one before. . . .
The color pattern is seen in Registered Nigi's ...it's not that the parentage is doubted, it's just more of a "pygmy pattern" than nigi...I too have seen the roaned nigi's.....you can definately tell they are not pygmies, the build is way different. :greengrin:
