not likely to kid at the same time as one of them always has kids a few days later....
first up is
Camanna hs blue morning glory- i really try to "fix" what the doe is lacking for the next generation.
Glory is a chocolate with min white and blue eyes. Her sibling la 87. I would like to see her kids with a less sloping rump and tighter toes(even though its nice to not have super tight toes in the mud) and stronger front legs. Glory has a very nice udder and has no problem producing enough for her kids and is a strong/deep doe. She is aging great and I will likely retain a kid.
ds- Castle rock huron sunset
dd- CH old mountain farm browni'dsuzn
Glory was bred to oak apple all be charming
ss- CH old mountain farm all over it
sd- Oak apple mika 1*m
pluses with this cross is might have some flash. 50% blue eyes, 50% moonspots and 50% polled. Chocolate or gold/cream likely.
Next up is
Purplerain t misty harvest- chocolate buckskin with blue eyes
ds- Sierra aspen ps tempo
dd- Harley hillside black dahlia
This is a preety dainty/dairy doe. I love her udder and overall look. I am barn blind with her as she was my first retained kid. could use a better rump structure.
misty also found Charm attractive. I have retained a doe out of misty and have one maternal sibling. so we shall see if I feel the need to keep another one. Her dam was bred to charm last season and i loved the kids so i will likely like these ones too.
Also chance for flash! 50% blue eyes, moonspots and polled kids. likely cream/gold, buckskin
so, i have had quite a few boys so hopefully a few girls for these two plus i wouldnt have to dna finally.. I love love mistys daughter who recently kidded. So im really considering retaining another one.
getting closer, managed to get glory up to the pump house(where the electricity is) and give her a quick shave. she told me the whole time how she didnt like the idea, but was a good girl about it. I dont have a place to tie so i just hope they hold still and give them some alfalfa pellets. She is an older doe so more room for kids. but she doesnt look extra large. im going to guess twins-triplets at most.
didnt get misty, maybe next weekend.
Misty looks larger then glory even though she is a much smaller doe. I am going to guess triplets.
maybe all win the goat lottery and get polled, moon spots, blue eyes, doelings and good conformation although i dont really care about the polled part.
Misty kidded triplets. Rough kidding they were all wonky. But all made it. Two small boys and one big girl. Both boys have blue eyes girl has brown eyes of course. One is supplemental feeding as he is the least favorite . Photos afternoon after born. April 14 12 :30 am
