My husband got me a new buck as a gift about a month ago. He is pretty shy and I have been working with him every day to get him friendly. He is very handsome, a nice black and white coloring, and a great size (about 20") but in my bonding time with him this weekend I realized that he has a double teat! I thought about banding him, but he is almost 2 years and thats not a good idea. I am not sure what I should do with him. I would really like to NOT breed him since I know there is a problem, my husband thinks im freaking over nothing and says keep him and use him since we dont breed registered goats anyway.

    Ugh!

There's always the burdizzo on an older male.
Is that passed on to the female doeling? What kind of goat is he?

After doing some research, if I am understanding it correctly the gene is passed on to the children. It may not appear on all children but they become possible carriers.

I never thought of the budzirdo. That would allow me to keep my gift yet not have a problem breeding.

Yep! Your gift can be a buddy to your breeding buck.
