Okay... I understand the F1 + F1 = F2, etc. thing... but I'm trying to wrap my brain around breeding an NOA to a registered buck.

Example: If I register my Mini-Mancha doe NOA, which makes her a grade doe and breed her to my MDGA registered 5th gen Mini-Mancha Buck... the kid is a Grade or F1? Or What? Is it even worth doing?

I do plan on letting several of my grade does go early next year in order to obtain another registered doe to match or exceed my bucks qualities.

I, like many others, started off never intending to get into all of this, but after having my beautiful Irish Cream and now Waller... I'm trying to educate myself and make the right decisions with my herd.

That's what I've come up with as well.

I decided it's best to sell these girls off and am getting my deposits down on registered, better quality doelings instead of trying to make things work with the girls I have now. The 2014 kidding season will be much improved.
