Well, we're down to 3 does on Groovy Grunder's Farm; Old lady Annika - she'll be 13 this month and is just planning on playing "Auntie" to the coming kids of her herd mates. Then there's Claire, an F1 mini Lamancha (bred to a Nigerian) who's a 3rd freshener and Pooka, an F2 mini Lamancha first freshener - also bred to a Nigerian.

Claire is definitely due April 13 (145 days), but she's HUGE and I think she'll go early. I've accused of carrying octuplets.

Pooka is a wild card (a very secretive breeder!), but lost her mucus plug 2 and 1/2 weeks ago. Udder is building nicely, but ligs are still there.

Took these pics on March 15. Hoping to do update pics later today when I go out to treat everyone for mites (Grrrrrr!). I'll get udder pics then...

I know, right? Considering that they're probably little 3/4 Nigerian kids, there must be AT LEAST 4 in there...

Holy cow, she has a herd hiding in there!!!!!! If those 2 girls have it their way, your herd will be up to 10 by the time they are done! LOL. Annika looks real good! Gotta love those tough old gals. You did a great job with her.

Your boy Phoenix has grown and is quite the handsome big boy, and still a sweetie. He has 5 does bred to him this year, 2 of mine and 3 of my daughter in laws. I can't wait to see his this years kids!!!!! However, gotta love those white bucks during rut. He was yellow and brown. Ugh.

Anika looks great. I miss seeing you around here😉 I’m thinking trips for both ladies…but mostly doelings. I can’t wait to see what they’re hiding🥰👀

Awwww, our baby is a "man" now. Thanks for giving him a chance to prove himself. Claire looks like a flippin' alien - she's got short Nigerian legs (Which makes her ginormous udder hang weirdly low - even though she has decent attachments) and a LaMancha body - with the appetite to match, and her rear pasterns look pathetic in her last two months of pregnancy - but she makes BEAUTIFUL kids, milks like a dream and is so easy to work with. And her pasterns always pop right back to normal a couple of weeks after kidding. I adore her!

I had a serious chat with "Yoda" while he was here and he agreed to only make doellings. ;-)

Poor Claire, she can’t get any lower to the ground without dragging on it…I think you’re probably right she’ll go first. I just love Pooka’s polka dots …such a mystery lady.

May I ask if Pooka is named after the ghosts or whatever? Irish for ghost is púca and I know we use pooka to mean the same thing here.

Yes, she is! We named her and her siblings for mythical creatures. Her brothers were Phoenix and...something else. Brain can't recall right now! The name suits her because she's always finding some sort of mischief to get into!

Edited: My daughter reminded me: that last boy was Sasquatch!!!
