looks great, love the pics :)
one thing though, I'm pretty sure that Pompey, your rooster isn't a Rhode Island Red.

    Thanks for the compliments!
Hmmm. We were told by the guy who hatched him that he was a Rhode Island Red, and we never questioned it. I guess I have some research to do. Any ideas what he is, then?

    Thanks again!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Alaska Boers! For two years, we've been wondering why our "Rhode Island Reds" performed so much better than others we heard about. You'd think I would have checked up on it, but we just considered ourselves lucky. With a little research, it looks like they're "Welsummer" crosses instead - a breed known for their large, very dark eggs, ability to withstand very harsh weather, and ability to lay throughout the year (we got an average of 8 eggs per day from 11 hens ALL year last year). Our ladies are getting older, and we're getting ready to replace them. I sure would have been disappointed if I'd asked for Rhode Island Reds...

    Thanks again!

Wow! It is so beautiful there with the rolling hills. I'll bet the sunsets are magnificent.

    Thanks, everyone,
Perfect 7, where are you in Northern FL? My husband and I met at FSU and spent a lot of time driving back and forth across the top of the state for various reasons. And, yes, the sunsets and sunrises are pretty awesome here.
    Thanks, TBG, for the compliment.
Stacey, I added links back to each farm (including yours) where I got each goat. I saw somewhere else that you had written about it being courteous to do that. So, I hope that was okay. I just linked it to your homepage.
Katrina, when I get a chance (probably tomorrow) I'll fix the stuff about the chickens.
    Thanks again.

Thanks, MiGoat, Ruthie's my sweetie. It's funny. I ALWAYS thought I wanted four boys. Guess God knew me better than I knew myself. I adore my boys. They're amazing young men, and I wouldn't trade them for the world; but I sure couldn't imagine my life without my little girl...
