Did a 2nd weighing for my 4 boer/nubian kids today. They are 9 days old.
They are all gaining the exact same amount of weight! I was really curious to see if there were differences in weight gain between the runt and the largest kid.

Aggie - 11.6 (.47 lbs gain per day)
Ava - 11.6 (.47 lbs gain per day)
Aeris - 9.4 (.48 lbs gain per day)
Alton - 12.4 (.48 lbs gain per day)

My question is will the runt always stay the runt, or do they catch up eventually?

Depends, sometimes they will catch up, it just takes them a bit longer to do so.

There is almost always one who is smaller than the rest. Yes they do catch up once they are eating hay & grain. By weaning time they will have caught up & by the time pretty much full grown you'd never know you had a "runt".
