My 5 month old doelings are already almost 90lbs.......does that sound right? They aren't fat and aren't thin.....they are in great shape but I'm just wondering if they are growing right?

Well they are purebred registered Nubians and I was hoping they would be big enough to breed this fall.......

I just wondered if that's average? Above average? Or what?

I know my Angoras need to be 60lbs and my Grades 80lbs to breed. I'm guessing there is a weight for Purebred Nubians but I don't know what it is. It seems like they're growing well by percentage of the babies weight to parents but I don't know for sure what weight is recommended for breeding. Hopefully someone else will chime in here.

I'm shooting for breeding in October so that gives her almost 3 more months of growing so I think she will be good........she will be 13 months old when she kids

Sounds good. She grows like our Alpines. Ours are 60lbs at 2 months, so she's got good growth to her. Sounds exactly how our goats grow....
Thanks! I'm feeling better about breeding her this fall then.......phew!
