I chose Nigerian, I have raised them for almost 10 years. I would never get rid of them. I also love Alpines. I am going to get into Saanens.

    I would vote-

    1st - Nigerian
    2nd- Saanen
3rd- Alpine  Me no likey Lamanchas. Lol

I voted Nigerians. I love them and it is all I have raised. Although I would love to have some LaManchas someday and maybe a couple of Nubians.

I prefer nubians but since that wasn't an option I voted for Nigerian Dwarf.

Loud? hmm, I only have a doeling and she can be quite vocal when she is unhappy, but most of the times she is very quiet and has a very soft cute voice. Goodness, she can scream her head off when she is lonely or hungry though! LOL! I thought that was all goats, though. I'm a newbie.

Of the options you gave I chose LaMancha. I'm not a fan of their ears but I love everything else about them. And I'm getting used to the ears, lol.

I honestly like so many things about so many breeds I can't even remotely chose just one favorite.

Paige, you know what my first choice is!! Nubians! Mine are not loud only when they want their food or when in heat.

With the list of breeds that you gave, I chose LaManchas. I am not the biggest fan of their ears, though I have gotten quite used to seeing them. I think the biggest thing about Munchies that I don't like is how ornery they are! Not towards people, but to other goats. I can almost guarantee if I put a LaMancha in with my Nubians, it would be an ear biter(jealousy! :p ). Anyways, I picked LaMancha over Saanen because, 1.) There are some really nice breeders that are close by me, 2.) I prefer color, and 3.) Personally, I see more consistancy in the LaManchas as a breed than Saanens.

No nigerians for me, I prefer the big girls, especially the Saanens. Less common than Nubians (which I keep, too), and sooooo much more milk. (sorry Nigi people-I like my milk, but if you ever get a gallon+ nigi, let me know and I'll grab 'em up in a heartbeat-they are too cute)

LaMancha all the way for me. I fist loved their loving personality then I loved their unique look. You can't mistake a lamancha for any other breed lol.

I picked Nigis :D LOVE da Nigies! So much personality and sweetness! Plus, if you've ever been to a really dairy herd and helped milked and seen almost 7 gallons come from just 20 does MOST of which are FF you begin to appreciate the capacity on these little buggers!!

Wouldn't mind having a few Lamanchas some day though!!

I had two Nubians that I milked 35 years ago...I loved them at the time...I'm pushing 70...Anyway, I am a newbie on this site...I'm about to adopt two Nigerian sisters that are one week old today...I really need help, as I would like to bottle feed, and would like to know when it is safe to take away from their mother...I don't know how to post a new topic and ask these questions, but I would also like to know what I need before I get them... :? Thanks for any help...

I voted Saanen and Lamancha. I think the nigies are adorable and I think they are a popular pet but I have dogs for pets. Although I have a really hard time considering my goats to be livestock and not pets.....ugh......

Alpines are my favorite but since that's not one of your choices I'm going to say Nigis for their yummy milk, cute factor and great personalities! Not the easiest to milk and don't produce alot but milk is high in butterfat which makes REALLY good soap! Nubians are loud and annoying to me,Lamanchas are just plain weird looking,Saanens well milk is low in butterfat not the best tasting and I like lots of color.Just all my opinions of course

nubians by far! I don't mind the look of lamanchas but their personality isn't my favorite. my nubian isn't vocal at all. On the other hand, another nubian that we have will SCREAM HER HEAD OFF if her friend leaves at meal time. I chose lamancha on the list that you gave.
