This is going to sound funny ... plantain is great for bug bites. You chew and apply. Healed a nasty bite I had, and I used it for my buckling who had a REALLY nasty tick bite. Good stuff, and free if you have it in your yard. ;D

I have it sprouting all over the place! My yard (such as it is) is mostly plantain and jewelweed! A few dandelions and burdock thrown in, with a sprinkling of buttercup.

I second the Plantain. It will even pull the venom out of a Brown Recluse bite.

Hmm.. Not sure if I have any.. I'll look it up online and see what it looks like.. I live in CT not sure if it grows here but I could be wrong!

Thanks guys! My dad is famous for killing every weed in the yard.. He's very picky about grass an stuff and its needs to be perfect! Lol so I doubt I'll have any cause I never have any weeds.

There's another type too that has leaves that are long and skinny. It has the same brown flowers though.
