Thanks Everyone! Her ketones went down a little between morning and evening. I think it would still be wise to induce her. I'm honestly wondering if she might have a cold? She's had a runny nose (clear) since Saturday, not constant, but when it runs I know it irritates her. I keep paper towels in my pockets, so when she sees me pull out a piece of paper and come towards her she is like 'okay, clean my nose mom' otherwise she would run away lol. She's on penG as a precaution. I just am curious, since she is a bit hoarse as well and another doe is hoarse. I just got over whatever virus plagued me all month - still a little hoarse/dry voice. My husband also just got over sickness.

I bought more stuff to make Philly Cheesesteak lol I had made enough the other day so that we could have some for lunch, and my husband took the whole bowl of meat to work with him lol. That wasn't fair, haha. They aren't huge sandwiches; I just use hoagie buns or sub with the brat/sausage buns.

I definitely am the type to usually want to clean outside vs inside, but we've been deep bedding in the barn with wasted hay, and just too much of a job for me to do alone. I have a hard time getting rid of stuff, seems like every time I get rid of something I end up needing it down the road! But plates/coffee cups that haven't been out of the cabinet in 2 years...gotta go lol. The big challenge will be under my kitchen sink where all the rubbermaid bowels, misc stuff are at. I just don't have a lot of space and it always gets so cluttered. Doesn't help that when everyone puts things away like the rubbermaid bowls they don't put the lids on them, then it becomes a big mess!

HoosierShadow I am the same way. I know before too long I will be searching for something that I bought and I know I have and then will remember I threw it away. But I know I will go nuts while recovering looking at how cluttered everything is and not being able to do anything about it. So away it goes. I’ll regret it later lol
Oh please please share that recipe! I am attempting to go on a diet, and I’m failing but I’m trying lol to cut out bread and pasta and go easy on the processed foods and that sounds like something I would fully enjoy and stick to the plan!
Today was cold and icy so I didn’t do too much outside. Just fed and watered and moved the pet cows feed trough so it’s easier to feed them. And they of course needed loves so I was scratching them and noticed some bald patches from lice so they got their lice treatment. Then I called the dentist and made a appointment. I have terrible teeth genetics and broke one while flossing. When I called she said “oh let me find a opening to clean your teeth too” I told her let’s just fix the tooth for now and worry about that later. Which is half the reason I hate dentists, always so pushy, just do what I ask.
Then I froze to death while watching my son play soccer. His last game is Friday, thank goodness I don’t know how many cold nights I can do! At least his FFA stuff is in doors lol

Yes!! Definitely us lol! We had a chest freezer in here and it was taking up so much room, I could never get my husband to buy enough stuff to fill it up and make it worth keeping on, so... we were storing goat stuff in it lol. Finally after years, I turned it on to make sure it worked, was good, so I sold it... 3 months later Covid chaos hit!! ugh!

Philly Cheesesteak is so easy to make! I buy shaved steak at our grocery, I brown it with season salt, garlic and black pepper. I honestly don't know how much of each, I just kind of guess lol. Then when it's done I add in sliced onion, green & red bell pepper (I bet it would be good with jalapenos too if you like it spicy!). Cook until tender (use a lid for all steps! or it will dry out). Add a little canola oil or whatever oil you like as needed when cooking meat and veggies.
I buy Hoagie buns or brat/sausage buns. I use a flat pan about medium heat, little bit of butter on all sides of the bun and then toast it on all sides. Then I take them off, put them on a cookie sheet, fill them with the meat mixture, put provolone cheese on top and I toast it in my Foodi air oven basically to melt the cheese really well. But that's my preference, I am thinking you could just add cheese when it's in the pan to make it easier.

Our weather is very similar, it was cold here too :( We had ice/sleet overnight, but not a lot, so it wasn't bad, mostly on the grass and random surfaces. I am definitely not as tough as I used to be in the cold weather! But going out to the barn at 11pm for my night time feed/drench and check was great, spent an hour out there lol! It's almost 1am and I need to go to bed....need to be up at 6am!

@Jessica84 I hope they are able to fix your tooth before you have to worry about your surgery! Man, this has not been a good season for TGS’ers and their teeth!
I actually have a small fear of messing up my teeth. Not really a fear, but I’ll just see in my mind how I could slip and fall and wack something right in my teeth. I’ve been this way for years… I think it stems from having to wear braces for 3 years 😅
And of course, my friends mom told me I was the only one she knew who could trip and fall going up the stairs 😆
If your guys weather is chilly enough for a soup recipe, I’ll share the one I tried and really liked. I am planning on trying it with venison this time, but I’ll brown my meat in beef tallow so it’ll give it a little bit of beefy flavor. Lol

My kids didn’t like the green bell pepper flavor, so I got a red one this time to see if they like the sweeter flavor from it.

What! It is not hard to fall going up the stairs at all! Lol I don’t think I’ve ever fallen down the stairs it’s always been up :p
Yes I’ll get it fixed Monday. It’s not terrible just a small piece broke off between the two back teeth but I have a bad tooth on the left that I’ve been ignoring so I eat on the right side and that hurts!

Falling going up the stairs happens more often than falling while going down the stairs around here.

"Man, this has not been a good season for TGS’ers and their teeth!"
Really does seem that way for sure.
That is exactly what went threw my mind lol “they jinxed me!” Lol mine is Childs play compared to the rest of you though, I shouldn’t even complain!

I don’t blame you, countertops are hard! We did our own but with these wooden kind with something over it (drawing a blank on what it’s called) and totally goofed the first piece right away. I would cry if it was granite. Either way it’s beautiful!
As far as I’m concerned my day is over. I got a lot done! I got the dog kennel and turned it back into a coop. I put a tarp on top, canvas so It won’t cause issues if we flood again lol and boards for roosts and some barrels for nesting boxed. Cleaned the hallway and bleached my shower. It was only 2 when I got done so got Savanna and we went down to start working with her steer. Got him in the laneway and he tried to turn around and ended up upside down. Thought for sure my day was going to end up being butchering a steer lol but we got him up and we scratched him all over until he calmed down then put the halter on him. Savanna was getting frustrated that he hates her and I reminded her the only time he was touched he lost his testicles and was branded. But we already have him taking a few steps and we can scratch him on the forehead and loosen the rope halter. I think he’s going to end up being very easy to halter break and will break her heart.
So now just nursing our rope burns and then I’ll cook dinner and catch chickens when they go in to roost on my kidding stalls.

Before she knows it, that steer will be following her around and nibbling on her hat/clothes 😂
The year my older son did a steer, he’d go out and lay against his side and nap 😆
The steer nibbled all of the brim on his straw hat too… my son felt so guilty about leasing him up on the trailer after fair was over. 💔

Lol no I’ll have to get a picture of it. It’s hard to explain.
Well I lied. My day was not over yet. I have been watching my daughters doe so close. She is so loose and her poor teats are sticking straight out. So when I got him from picking up Joshua I turned on the baby monitor and someone was making ruckus. It was Dakota. By the time I got out there there was a back leg sticking out. But we got it out now just waiting on the other(s)

She had 2! And she went from being my least favorite goat because she decided to kid back to one of my top favorite lol. I walked out at 9:20 and she kidded, kids were up and nursed and I got the stall all ready with shavings and a heat lamp and I was in the house at 10. She wasted no time at all. But two little boys. I’m ok with that, I won’t be tempted to keep lol and I didn’t have another bottle kid.
I don’t have a thread going. I am honestly just dreading this kidding season and hope everyone does well. It’s been such a messed up year. I just weaned a 3 month old buck and 3 days late she kids so it’s going to be a long drawn out deal.
But here’s some cute boys lol
