Ok so we had a last minute change of plans. We had paid to go riding at the Kentucky horse park for the benefit trail ride they do twice a year. Unfortunately this week before leaving one of my friends horse developed an abscess and had to have his shoes pulled. So we changed to a local ride on another one of her horses. The three of us had a blast and her other two horses are proving they are good trail horses too! Now that we know they can handle it we have our trail riding trio for future rides. My old guy has a heart murmur so I borrowed my friends old appy and he was amazing! Love a good steady eddy type of horse for trails now that I am a bit older. Here are some pics from our ride today. Sorry some are a but blurry just used our phones and not an actual camera. Enjoy and then share what you all have been up to lately!

I am always strict about heals down lol evidence documented for the barn kids lol

I love my endurance saddle! Simple wintec with a changeable system and wool flocked. I can't stand the cair system ones and I don't even know if they make this one any more but love it! It's the only saddle I like to ride in now.

Well, I had a ruff night. My cat Stacey sleeps with me. Generally she sleeps at the foot of the bed or by the window. She will often lay on me for awhile usually early in the morning. But last night I kept hearing her rustling around and was getting very irritated. It sounded like she was in the closet so I finally checked and couldn't find her anywhere. I was too sleep stupid to think straight and got back in bed. It was quiet for awhile and then the rustling started back up with an occasional mew. I would yell at her to stop and it would get quiet again. Then she got noisy again.
I got up again and thoroughly checked the closet and she definitely wasn't in there. She wouldn't make enough noise for me to figure out where she was stuck. I finally heard her mew and looked at the drawers under the bed. I remembered that one was open when I went to bed and I had closed it. I opened it up and there she was!!
The fun wasn't over yet though. She was so freaked out that she climbed up on my side and would not get off. Even when I shoved her off so I could roll over she climbed right back up. She stayed on me until I was running late to go out to the goats and had to move her.😾🙀😻

Poor kitty- but also poor you! I have to put a pair of my husbands boots in front of the closet door or my cat will reach under it with her paw and pop it open. It obviously doesn’t latch really hard. Lol
I get irritated when the cat is keeping me awake at night. I need my sleep 😅

I'm so sorry to hear the shavings made your filly break out, that is frustrating. Have you used it before?
I hope you get to go to the horse show! You'll have to post some pictures if you do!

Thanks, I hope things start to calm down, I know it could always be worse than how it has been.

We have a line of rain and storms just west of us, hopefully just rain by the time it gets to us, light rain preferably, but there is a lot of yellow and red. I'm about to lay down and try to rest, set my alarm probably every 30-45 minutes to check on the doe on camera. It was such a busy day, got up at 5:40am and been going ever since. It's 12:20am now.
I'll try to doze on the couch and hopefully this doe doesn't try to trick me like the last one we induced...
Thanks well didn't make it to the horse show or even work in the barn. The storm hit us hard and had a tree deposited on my dad's carport. Shingles ripped off roof but after a full day of clean up feeling lucky. hope everyone else is safe . My aunt and cousin came and helped with the clean up. took 5 of us from early morning til about 5:30 to remove from roof, clear driveway and cut most of it up.

Oh gosh! That sort of stuff has been going on all around us. Really bad winter for so many people. And now it's moving on into spring.

We started on a project I have been putting off for ages. Cleaning the back porch.
I got motivated because I wanted to make room for an incubator out there. But to do that the big shelves had to be organized.
Boy Howdy! There were canned foods dated 2014.😳 We should never have to buy paper plates or plastic ware again. We found multiple packages that had gotten lost in the back.
We are nowhere near done and have to go out to brunch in the morning and then The Family is coming for BBQ in the afternoon.🤯
Sure hope I get some sleep.

Thanks. That we do. The cedar we are going to make into things. Got a friend with a lathe so we are going to try to make some pens. I thought we could make pens for family members that helped with clean up.

@DDFN That’s a lot of damage but it sounds like you’re making some great things out of it. We had a huge cedar tree split in half vertically, almost right down the middle, and half of it fell. Weirdest thing. But it didn’t fall on anything, thankfully.

@luvmyherd It sounds like going on a treasure hunt on your own back porch. I have a few places I need to treasure hunt myself. Things get busy and things get stuffed in random locations and I really need to go through it.

Thanks. That was the odd thing healthy tree and half of it ripped clean off. Other half is still standing. I know later we will have to trim the other half off but too exhausted to deal with it now. There are weaker trees that it could of got but a straight path down the valley is were it hit. neighbors fence, dad's tree and other neighbors garage. All in a straight line. they say the tornado didn't touch here but Think it was gaining speed for one.

You probably got hit with straight line winds …they can be just as destructive as a twister. They’re horrible. I’m just glad no one there was hurt. Sorry you had a mess to clean up.

Thanks. yeah that's what we were wondering . years ago a little old man in town had his house leveled by a straight line wind. Nothing else was touched. It's just crazy. The only 3 houses hit in our little back street community all adjoining property lines.

Side note a friend prayed for God to protect and be with us yesterday and that's when the kitten showed up crying and needing a home. I think we ended up with an Angel

I woke up to a text from a unknown number that said “your cows are out” no reply when I asked where so drive around and looked and couldn’t find any cows out so I’m thinking someone thought they were being cute. Then I went and got my coffee. Felt pretty good so cleaned out the hay trough on the outside so everyone would enjoy some sunshine. Found my dog in the kids old tree house eating the cat food. I thought that was the one and only safe place where the chickens, turkeys and dogs couldn’t get to since it’s 10’ high but I guess not lol he went up the tree where there is the bracing around it and went right on up. So I found a old wooden gate I made and put up there to block him. So far so good lol
I have 2 more weeks of down time until I can start doing moderate lifting and such and work my way up. So found a bunch of events in the area and filled out applications to sell my freshies. If all applications are excepted I should have almost every weekend booked until mid June. Some of them are one day and another the next day and realized organizing between is going to be a pain so went to the dollar store and got more totes. That way if I crack down on making them I can have two different batches. When I take down i literally just swipe everything into totes lol I’m usually tired and done and that’s how I roll. So I’m pretty excited about that!

I try to put cat food out on my kids swing set thing with a fort area up top of the slide. I blocked the dog with an old wooden baby gate for doorways. The chickens hop thru and pig out.

between chickens eating cat food and now my battle with goats eating dogfood… I’m not even sure what I want to do about it 😆

I am totally a swipe it in the tub type as well 😉

Wow @DDFN ,so glad no more damage than that! Sorry you have to clean up that mess. Yes straight line winds are awful. Been hit with them before. So glad you got an Angel.
Today is Sunday so I honestly attempt to take a day of rest. I thought I needed to get out and take pictures of all the kids. I dont have the patience of @CountyLineAcres or @HoosierShadow . So my pictures arent near as nice. But I was laying on the ground and got stepped on by a few Moms, hair eaten by a few kids. And if course got jumped on too. But hey,It was a sunny day, and fun.

I remember the basement cat memes. Lol. I have one that looks a lot like him but is female. She was feral and found us when she was about 9 months old. It took us until she was about 2 convince her she wanted affection and then she became a total love. Now she’s 17 and still as sweet and relaxed as ever, and still incredibly agile even with a broken and dislocated hip. These cats that find you are something special. I think Bat Masterson (love the name) is an angel kitty.
