Oh no DDFN I am so sorry about the storm damage, but so glad it wasn't worse! We didn't get any of the bad stuff the other day, just rain and wind. I feel terrible for everyone dealing with severe weather.
It's been another busy day, but it's pretty out. Yesterday early afternoon we noticed one of our bucklings breathing heavy. Acting mostly normal, but definitely not breathing right. Peeing good, so took temp and it was a little high. Started him on Banamine and PenG. By 10pm he was breathing much worse, looked distressed despite nursing and moving around, but looked uncomfortable. Temp good, so I decided PenG wasn't helping, and gave him a dose of Noromycin LA300. 5am he was not breathing as fast, but still breathing heavy. But late morning he seemed to be nearly normal and is acting normal again. Never had this happen before so it was another 'weird' thing to add to our collection of goat drama.
After treating him last night I gave one of our new twins an enema, he had dried yellow poop so was constipated. Something I always observe in kids if they are born a little early and/or have a mom with really good, thick colostrum. So then both boys ended up with really runny poop. Gave them spectogard this morning and they seem fine. Then aftercare for mom who is still sore and swollen.
I tried to get my camera out again today, and it was so hard to get pictures. I attempted to get down on their level and my bratty bucket boy, Jack was back at it, attacking me, climbing on my back and at one point all 4 of my bucket brats were attacking me. Because we feed on a bottle baby schedule vs leaving milk out 24/7, they are super annoying lol.
