What did you all do today ?!?!

Ok so we had a last minute change of plans. We had paid to go riding at the Kentucky horse park for the benefit trail ride they do twice a year. Unfortunately this week before leaving one of my friends horse developed an abscess and had to have his shoes pulled. So we changed to a local ride on another one of her horses. The three of us had a blast and her other two horses are proving they are good trail horses too! Now that we know they can handle it we have our trail riding trio for future rides. My old guy has a heart murmur so I borrowed my friends old appy and he was amazing! Love a good steady eddy type of horse for trails now that I am a bit older. Here are some pics from our ride today. Sorry some are a but blurry just used our phones and not an actual camera. Enjoy and then share what you all have been up to lately!

I am always strict about heals down lol evidence documented for the barn kids lol

I love my endurance saddle! Simple wintec with a changeable system and wool flocked. I can't stand the cair system ones and I don't even know if they make this one any more but love it! It's the only saddle I like to ride in now.

Oh wow Moers I hope everything stays put! Are you expecting more storms as well as dealing with the wind? It's supposed to get windy here this evening through tomorrow afternoon. I want my husband to help me hang a tarp over the back doors of the kidding barn to keep wind from blowing through the gaps between the boards. We plan to fix this issue, but don't have the wood (thin/lightweight) to get it done yet. He was like 'we've never had an issue before' and I told him 'well, we've never had 20 wind advisories in a single year either!' Seriously... it seems like we have a wind advisory every week. Definitely not normal for us.
I'm worried about the storms we're supposed to get tonight. Hopefully the wind doesn't bring down trees or take out our power.
Doe in labor right now and I hope she decides to kid sooner rather than later...

With that doe being in labor, I opted to not go get feed this morning. We aren't out, but I'll have to get more tomorrow as I don't have enough to last until Monday.
I could definitely use a nap now... so maybe a 20 minute eyes closed on the couch will happen.

Well we had some damage, going to call insurance. The house had shingles, and siding blown off. Even our standing Metal Mailbox was blown over. One chicken run was demolished, a small shed was blown apart. The awning was broken and tore down. Leaves are all gone now!😂🤣 So far the trees are cleaned our, and standing. The poor little goats had trouble today, and laid down alot. At least it was Sunny & warm. Im glad the wind has stopped blowing. Ive heard several Semi trucks were blown off the roads, and some overturned. It was a rough day today.

Last night’s storm brought a tornado to my county (5 miles south of us, so we’re fine) and even where the tornado went through , everything appears fine. No major damage done. The storm we just had with straight line winds did a lot more damage than this one, so it must not have been a powerful tornado. Thank goodness. Today is supposed to be windy, but not the spinning, sucking kind, so we should be fine. Lol.

Glad you're ok. It was an F2 by the time it came through here but missed us. A few limbs down but also agree last week's winds did more than this one. Stay safe!

Thank you ! We still have strong winds but can handle it. Just got 10 bales of hay from the coop and they are a bit damp guessing some rain blew into the semi trailer they were in. going to let them sun dry before putting in hay shed but they will get eaten before they can grow anything . Can't wait to get new barn done and inspected so I can just have some nice Kentucky hay delivered. my hay guy said around May 10th will be the first load. planning to move more dirt today and dads going to pick up half of my sliding for the barns front side Wednesday. normally a 1 day turn around is longer due to storm damage and lots of people having to redo roofs.

Todays been busy here, it’s hoof trim and copper day. So far, I’ve cleaned the barn, both buck pens, done two loads of laundry trimmed 11 goats and gotten 20 coppered. Oh and cleaned the chicken coop (yuck) …only got 6 more hours of daylight…gotta get more done before storms tomorrow afternoon…I hate spring weather😣

It's unreal. It blew dad's coffee cup over full out side. Hahaha the filly clearly didn't think she had enough yet. Thus is why I call her Prema for Prema Donna. sometimes I think she needs a tranq dart lol

@DDFN Your poor horse. I don’t think ours got quite that bad but boy, it is windy, which we’re not used to. All the animals are acting a bit silly but not scared.

@GoofyGoat I’m exhausted reading that! I feel very lazy in comparison to what you did already. I cleaned the doe barn and pen, the buck barn and pen, the turkey pen and coop, and the chicken coop. Then spent the rest of the day babysitting Thistle’s twins so they could all be out in the big area with the big girls. Thistle took full advantage of us watching her kids. Lol. She went and grazed and foraged and left them with us. We still have to watch them around the herd who aren’t always nice to the babies. This was their first time out of the pen, so it was fun to watch them.

I agree, @GoofyGoat , you accomplished a lot today! Good job!
I went and helped ride today. Even tho weather forecast wasn’t a good one, they were short handed so I thought I’d try and help out. Thankfully the wind and sleet waited to pick up until after we got to our destination. It only sprinkled on and off which was so nice in comparison. Once that wind picked up, it was like it was telling us how bad it could have been all day!
I just took a cpl pics cus I had to take my gloves off to use my phone 😂

After we got them where we needed to, we had a cpl that needed doctoring. I thought it was a good picture of how his horse stayed tight on the rope and his dog stayed back where he was supposed to be. Teamwork makes the dream work! Lol
