A family is wanting to buy a goat from me to milk. My question is this.
Is it OK for them to get just 1 doe in milk and her baby or babies or does there need to be another grown doe with her. I've never sold to people that didn't already have goats. They have done everything right to get ready...nice pen and shelters.

If her babies go with her, she should be ok, just as long as there are two goats at least.

    goathappy said it -

there must be at least 2 goats. It doesn't have to be another doe persay, it can be kids, a wether, or whatever.

I will ONLY sell my goats to a person who already has goats ( I call their vet) or they must buy two or more. I would hate to see a herd animal by themselves - lonely and depressed.

    good luck!

Thanks Sarah and Allison. I will go ahead and sell them a doe with her baby/babies then.

i will not sell any of mine unless i know that they have another one at home or they get 2 from me. it can be a weqther, doe or kid as long as they have another one. she should be just fine with her own kids with her for company.
