We are in the process of expanding the goats pasture and once we get the new fence up and let the goats in the will have access to these new trees around the boundary on one side. There are alot of them. I just want to find out what they are to make sure they aren't harmful to them.

How tall is it and what is it's shape like, is it bushy shaped? Or does it have a definite trunk and more tree shaped?

They are kind of tall like a tree about 15 ft tall and bushy but they don't have a single trunk. They branch out around the bottom like a bush and grow up

I am wondering if it is wild hedge. I am not certain but the leaves look right. I wish I could see the whole plant.

If they are wild hedges...are they ok for them to eat?

It looks like a type of dog wood perhaps.

They aren't actually our trees they are planted on the neighboring property that is for sale .the realestate company ownes it. and unfortunately they hang way over the boundary fence onto our property. We have tried to get them to trim them or cut them down because they have briars and vines that make a terrible mess on our chain link fence but they refuse to do anything with them .

Well my girls eat wild hedge. That scares me though that they are planted on property, I would be afraid they might be something else that is toxic. I know wild hedge grows in the south but without being able to see it I am just not comfortable saying that is what it is for sure.

In this state anything the hangs over your property line belongs to you and can be trimmed at your discretion.
Dogwood here isn't a tree, it's a multi stemmed hedge that spreads fairly quickly. You're on the other side of the country though so, it's probably something else.

We would love to cut them down and my husband has actually gotten frustrated with the trees and the constant mess on our fence and got out the chainsaw and headed to the property to cut them down but I wouldn't let him because I didn't know if he would get into trouble. I would hate for him to be arrested over some trees . The last time the bank or real estate people had someone there to cut the grass we went over and nicely asked if there was something they could do about them or at least trim them, the guy was a real smart a**. And asked if we were gonna pay him a few hundred $s

Banks just hire a contractor to do the work. I would probably just go ahead and cut them down. I doubt the landscaping company who is maintaining the property will care.

I had some when I lived in NY. They told me it was called Red Brush. It grows wild. I don't know if it is bad for goats.

yes, also it's an evergreen and I fence mine off during the warm months and then let my goats feed on it during the winter. It's considered an invasive species, but I fertilize mine.

Of course pics is upside down again grrr.... Anyway we went ahead and chopped some down early before someone noticed just to get them off the front side fence still got lots to go
