Are the metal t-posts like the picture 8ft apart sufficient to keep goats in? How long of post did everyone use ?
Thank you.

That's what we use, and goat fencing and probably about 8 ft apart.

And put the posts on the outside because they like to rub against the fence when they're shedding and it pushes out. Ask me how I know :)

Do you remember how long of posts you used?

Don't know the exact size but I'm aware of two sizes and we used the longer ones. We also go to auctions and that's usually where we buy posts because we are tightwads and don't like to pay full price for anything if we can help it :)

Long t posts, with wood posts for corner bracing and every 5th post. They can rub on fencing so I recommend good bracing if this is a long term enclosure.

That's right and we do that too, dug wood posts on corners. Just an interesting thing I learned from my husband, you don't have to mix cement for corner posts, just dig the hole, put the post in and put dry quickrete in it. The moisture from the ground will infiltrate within about 24 hours you will have a nicely set post. Also you need to tamp down the dry mix when you put it in. Way easier than mixing concrete.

I used 6 ft t post with the goat and sheep fencing. I spaced mine every 6ft and also have 4x4x6 pressure treated post every 60ft or on a corner.

When using T post, purchase the length at least 1 foot taller than the fencing height.

I use a combination of wood and steel t posts with wood H braces at the corners and at the gates.

I have every kind of post imaginable. Due to Louisiana swampy high water table and 30 years of itchy goats, all my posts lean. I buy the tallest I can get and go down 18".
And I use tiffin's trick with the dry cement also. I have also started putting my posts through a cinder block before cementing. Since I am always working alone, it helps to
center them while they set up. I also have a bunch of cinder blocks someone gifted me...
