Where oh where has goathiker been?

I will have to start this at the beginning glossing quickly over things I've already shared.

After my DH passed from covid/delta Oct 5, 2021 I lost interest in most things and lost way too much weight. It was all I could do to get the minimum done.
In May 2022 I ended up in the hospital with Rhinovirus and sodium deficiency.
Oct 1, 2022 my mother passed after a bad fall. She was 89.

Oct 5, 2022 I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the type that affects colon, lungs, bones, and brain.

Then the frenzy began.
I opted for immunotherapy. At that point I weighed 94 lbs.
I started with 5 tumors. 4 cycles in 2 of them had disappeared and the other 3 were shrinking.

I spent some more time in the hospital again with Rhinovirus and sodium deficiency. This time they discovered that my adrenal glands are not working. I now have a pill I will literally die if I don't take it for very long. I have so much more energy and feel 20 years younger.

I am now at 8 cycles. 2 more tumors have disappeared and the remaining 1 is still shrinking.

So, this is where I've been and why I now feel more like talking to people. I'm doing much better mentally and am much less confused.

You’ve been through so much! I can’t even imagine. I am amazed at how well you are doing and hoping and praying the last tumor goes away. It sounds like what you are doing is working. Still a terrifying diagnosis. My heart goes out to you. I am glad they figured out your adrenal troubles before it was too late and that you have energy again. You have been very missed. But wow, life has put you through the wringer and I am so glad you are back.

As to my livestock...
Franky, my last doe died of old age last winter. I still have Dodge, my St. Croix ram and my 2 East Fresian ewes.
I will probably not buy more goats at this point.

I still have Ellie, my Doberman mix. She is my comfort and goes to all my Dr appointments with me. She's 16 months now.
I also still have the young pup that had never been outside of a box in her life. She's 11 months.

You’re such a strong amazing person.. life threw you lemons and you’re making lemonade. Praying that your last remaining tumor continues shrinking into oblivion and you regain strength and your passions. It’s great that Ellie is by your side for comfort, you can’t beat the love of a dog when you’re needing a boost. Hang in there🤗

WHOA! Well done taking care of yourself mentally and physically! What a dramatic story. I hope the RV life is working well and your family is stepping up.

Oct 5...watch out, huh? Will you celebrate or stay in a closet this year?

RV is great. Of course mine is fairly new with forced air furnace, air conditioning, full bathroom, etc. I'm really enjoying having my own space. There's full hook-ups here as well so no going to the rv dump.
Both of my daughters and my son are living here also. We are managing the house payments between us.

I'm just going to skip Oct. this year, go to the Jewish calendar or something 🤣

I’m so sorry to hear about all you’ve gone through.
I hope you get through the cancer soon. And completely recover. It sounds like the treatments are working. That is wonderful to hear!
Cancer is not fun. I went through a bit of that in 2017. We lost my uncle and aunt to Covid fall of 2021.
We are all here to support you.
