    Hello All,

Can someone help me identify what these white scabby like patches are on my pet goats tail and anal region. She is 2 years old and is some sort of Nigerian dwarf mix. I cleaned the area and coated it with iodine. She also has had foot rot issues in the past. I have another goat that is the same age but she shows none of these symptoms. What are these things and how do I treat them?

    Thanks for any help,
    The Goat Father

Looks like a staff infection. (Wear rubber gloves, you can catch it)
Chlorhexidine will help clear it up. Drug store sells Hibiclens soap, gently wash the area with Hibiclens and rinse it with clear water. Couple times a day.

Thank you guys, I have bought the Chlorhexdine soap and will apply it twice a day. Hopefully it clears up. I will post an update in a week or two to let you guys know if it was successful and hopefully help others with the same issue in the future.

My stupid iPad misspelled Chlorhexidine. Thanks for catching it! I went back and corrected it.
