We had bad luck with our Nubians first breeding with us. She would not allow us to milk her, and we don't have a milking stand, so her kids sucked her dry. How I know she is dry? I separated the baby's from 8 am to 8 pm and she made maybe 3 cups of milk (drinking cups). The kids are 8 weeks old.

Now she is doing something she has never done before. Usually she will yell a little right before I feed up, saying in goat "I AM HUNGRY!". Now when she is done feeding she goes all around the yard yelling over and over and over. Both her babies follow her, and she is pretty darn full! She eats 3 cups of food every morning with Vegetable Oil added.

Could she be going into heat with all the yelling? She isn't showing ANY other signs of being in heat.

As wacky as the weather has been, anything is possible. It is a little early for Nubians, but I know some people whose does come in heat in July.
