Several of our goats have these spots on their noses. Some of the goats get them every winter (I posted about them in 2019 too: https://www.thegoatspot.net/threads/what-are-these.209443/).

We have been treating with NuStock which helps dry them up. Has anyone seen this before and/or know what causes it?

The scabs in the center of the bald spots will come off sometimes, which causes the spots to bleed until a new scab forms.

I see these from time to time. Nustock seems to clear them up.

Are mites contagious to other goats? I think one of my does has mites and I want to know if I need to treat all of them or just her.

I think I answered some questions In a different thread.

Yes, they can take down a goat and should be treated.

It is species oriented so no, humans are safe.

Lice/mites can be hard to get rid of. If you don’t follow through or clean loafing areas.

It may be dander or lice.

Use Ivomec pouron the blue liquid kind works good on both mites/ lice.

How do you clean loafing areas?

How can I be sure it is lice/mites and opposed to dander? I don't want to do all this extra stuff for mere dander. Should I try a copper supplement?

I posted this on the other thread but how do you apply the Ivomec?

Thank you for your help so far!

Do they have free choice loose minerals with copper, selenium, zinc?
Cooper has fishtail signs or dull color changing coat.

It may not be mites or lice.
But Ivomec blue liquid pouron helps for both.
For severe cases, getting injectable Ivomec and giving it SQ helps that way.
