Bought a sad, little, scruffy, young, chocolate brown, one horned Nigerian dwarf at an auction -she looked so terribly deficient, I had to take her home. When I was loading her, her one good horn crumbled off and bled like crazy, poor thing -that was in late May. I had been looking for a brown goat, and there she was -we named her Brownie.

She got the deluxe treatment -Replamin dose for a few weeks and free choice minerals which she loved! Quality hay, pasture, sunshine, fresh water and little bit of my boss/alfalfa/grain mix daily and lots of love. I ordered some copper and gave her 3 mg early July. So a few short months later....here's my little Brownie...most of the brown has grown out,now I think she's actually black and white! :) I can't believe the difference!

Isn't it amazing! I bought some scruffy ones before that were kinda my dirty little secret so never took pics of them and now regret it. But I do have a FB page and a few months back was going threw OLD pics of when I first started with goats and had no clue about copper and found myself saying wow! Not all the same goats but such a difference

I don't think I realized it until I looked at the old pictures side by side- looking at old pics really gives you that objective view- I have started a spreadsheet with pics on each goat alongside their medical records, neat to see them grow and change.

Now you need to find a brown goat and name her Blackie.

    LOL Humor pitstops provided daily!

If I don't discipline myself and thin out my herd, next Spring's crop of kids are going to be named after this year's hurricanes and cyclones. Disaster relief needed!

Looking SO much better! If it has been 3 months since her copper bolus I would go ahead and re-dose her since she is still sporting her fish tail. She is going to look EVEN better in a few more months!
